# var

The `var` condition.

Compares a value from `inputs`, `vars`, `session` or `job` with `op` and `value`.

Type: `object`

## Keys

| `var.name` | `string` | The value to test, as a dotted path such as `vars.total` or `inputs.mode`. |
| `var.op` | `"exists" \| "eq" \| "neq" \| "gt" \| "gte" \| "lt" \| "lte" \| "contains" \| "matches"` | The comparison: `exists`, `eq`, `neq`, `gt`, `gte`, `lt`, `lte`, `contains` or `matches`. Numbers compare as numbers, anything else as strings. |
| `var.value` | `any` | The value to compare against. Required for every `op` except `exists`; for `matches` it is a regular expression. |
