# Deprecations

API features scheduled for removal, their replacement and the date they stop working. Nothing in /v1 is deprecated today.

A deprecated feature keeps working until its sunset date. From the day it is deprecated, every response to a call that uses it carries two headers, both HTTP dates:

```http
Deprecation: <the day it was deprecated>
Sunset: <the first day it may stop working>
```

`Sunset` is at least six months after `Deprecation`. Both headers are exposed through CORS, so a browser client can read them as well as a server.

## Currently deprecated

Nothing in `/v1` is deprecated, so no response carries these headers today.

When something is deprecated, it is listed here with the date it was deprecated, its sunset date, what to use instead and how it answers after the sunset, and it is announced in the [changelog](https://docs.kaab.ist/changelog).

## When you see the headers

1. Find the feature on this page and its replacement.
2. Move to the replacement before the sunset date; both work side by side until then.
3. Search your logs for the `Deprecation` header to find any call you missed.
